Given the apps explosion in popularity as millions of people work from home during the novel coronavirus pandemic, Zoom has reported it has stopped working to add new features in order to focus on security. Users get the app, but also malicious code that could give criminals access to personal information or other access to your device. Tech publication ZDNet reported cybercriminals are bundling malware and viruses into unofficial app installers. Police say victims are reporting they downloaded what appeared to be Zoom through links in emails, text messages and other means. "If you are going to download Zoom or any other App or service, only do so only from a verified source," officials said.Įxperts suggest going to Zoom's official website,, to get proper links to official downloads. Cincinnati police are warning the public to be careful if they need to download Zoom, the popular video meeting service.
